It all began with a night of reflection and inspiration for Linda Thompson, who felt a powerful calling to share the beautiful scenery of Stuart, Iowa, with others. Guided by messages of selling, building for God, and singing for joy, Linda and her husband Gary embarked on a journey to create a space where families could gather, music could thrive, and nature could be celebrated.
The Thompsons sold their rental properties in Stuart and began working on Raccoon Ridge. They designed a steel building with a cathedral-type roof and insulated it to enhance the acoustics. From gospel karaoke to Central Iowa Band Dance, they envisioned a venue that could host a multitude of events and be a haven for music and camaraderie. The hall was equipped with a stage, a full kitchen, and multimedia tools to accommodate various gatherings.
